Name: Lyla
Name: Lyla
Rank: Nightsister Exile
Tier: Low 4
Background: Lyla is an eighteen-year-old Zabrak female, born a Nightbrother into the enslaved service of the Nightsisters of Dathomir. From a young age, she knew she was different from the other Nightbrothers her age. Where most accepted their captivity, or worse, found pride in serving the witches, Lyla was a free spirit who quietly dreamed of breaking her people out of bondage and reclaiming the freedom they had long since forgotten. A handful of her childhood friends shared that dream, but none of the adults did, and the limits placed on them as children meant that their plans never amounted to anything. In time, the dream dimmed and gave way to a harsher, quieter reality.
When Lyla reached adulthood, her fight for freedom turned inward. She began to understand that the dissatisfaction she had always carried wasn't only about her people's chains, but about her own. She felt trapped in her own body, and once again there was no obvious way out. Desperate to carve a path of her own, Lyla stole a tome of magick from one of the Nightsisters and began to study in secret. She told herself the theft was a means to an end: if she could master even a fraction of what the witches wielded, she might one day free her people. In truth, the magick was something far more personal. It was a private attempt to find herself, to reclaim some small piece of autonomy that belonged to her alone, and the selfishness of it shamed her enough that she buried it beneath nobler justifications.
No matter how much she practiced, her magick stayed stubbornly unrefined. It had a chaotic streak, sometimes producing effects far beyond what she expected, other times failing outright or twisting into something she hadn't intended at all. As her body began to change under the influence of the magick, her secret became impossible to keep. The Nightbrothers pieced together what she had become, and what she had stolen. Her oldest friends closed ranks around her and tried to shield her, but it was only a matter of time before word reached the witches themselves: a tome was missing, and a Zabrak was practicing magick. To the Nightsisters, this was treason of the highest order.
The Nightmother's order was simple: kill Lyla, the false Nightsister, recover the stolen tome, and extract whatever ichor had taken root inside her. When the witches descended on the colony, the Nightbrothers stood and fought for one of their own. As word spread through the colony, more of them threw themselves into the witches' path to buy her time, and many of them died for it. Lyla fought alongside her brothers, but her magick betrayed her at the critical moment. A spell meant to kill one of the witches tore open into something else entirely, a wild surge of teleportation that ripped her away from the colony and left her stranded somewhere far from home on Dathomir, with no sense of direction and no way back. The last thing she saw was her friends dying in her place, and she could do nothing to stop it.
Stranded in the ruins of something old, Lyla has sworn two things: to grow into a witch more powerful than any she has known, and to return to the colony and end the Nightmother's grip on her brothers once and for all.

Weaknesses: Lyla is determined to get stronger and return to her Dathomiri sect to free the Nightbrothers, to the point it is a complete obsession. In terms of being manipulated, in combination with her lack of Mental Shielding, it doesn’t get more golden than this. Lyla is likely to betray her ideals, her morals, and her bonds to fulfil this goal. Lyla harbours a heavy guilt due to unwillingly abandoning her home, trapping herself on the other side of the planet with no means to return. This is an easy spot for anger or manipulation, something that should be noted by a knowledgeable and mindful combatant. Lyla is extremely hot-headed and tends to act before she thinks, something which should be used against her in a combat scenario. Lyla lacks in close-quarters, but more importantly, has no viable defence against blaster weaponry. Both of these facts should be exploited. Finally, Lyla’s Magicks entirely derive from the tome she acquired, and removing it from her person would greatly reduce both unpredictable equations in a combat encounter, as well as a massive source of power.
