Name: Mandalorian Metalsmith

Rank: Mandalorian

Tier: Middle 3

Background: Mandalorian Armourers, otherwise called Metalsmiths or Nauralor'e in Mando'a, were a fixture of Mandalorian culture dating back to the time of the Taung. Prized in their culture, Armourers were the lifeblood of the culture, as they were the ones that made the Armour for the people. Additionally providing communal aid in raising foundlings such as overseeing training or rituals such as the Verd'goten, they were commonly seen as community leaders prior to the establishment of the larger, State-like Clans.

Many apprentice Nauralor'e would often aid in combat under the purview of their Master's, performing field repairs or slicing for their peers. With increasing reliance on technological warfare in the Galaxy, these apprentice smiths became increasingly needed in the field, and spread their skills to their allies. However, Master Armourers were horrified at the prospect of Beskar smithing spreading too far and falling into enemy hands, and as such, had it so no details on the smithing process itself could be leaked, and retracted their apprentices from the field.

The skills passed on to their comrade in arms stayed, however, and resulted in the birth of the "Naur'ika" or simply just Naurs, meaning Smiths in Galactic Basic. Armed with knowledge on how to repair beskar (but not smith it!) and slice, they became a common sight in many armies across Mandalore, and were a partial inspiration for the Grand Army of the Republic when it came to creating field slicers and repairmen in the clone engineers.
