Name: Alpha-17

Rank: ARC Major

Tier: Middle 2

Background: Alpha, as was the case with the rest of the ARCs, first saw action with the Separatist invasion of Kamino. As the Confederacy's droid forces pushed towards the heart of Tipoca City, the Kaminoan Prime Minister, Lama Su, activated the ARCs and authorized their deployment to hot-spots across Kamino in a last-ditch effort to save the planet's precious cloning facilities.

During the fighting to push the droids from Tipoca's central armoury, Alpha teamed up with Jedi Master Shaak Ti, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. When the city's clone stocks became compromised, Alpha rigged the lab to self-destruct, much to the dismay of the Jedi. However, he managed to figure out a solution, using the Jedi's Force powers and the nearby ocean by collapsing a glass panel to flood the droid-occupied section, after which he aborted the detonation sequence.

When Naboo lost contact with the Gungan colony of Ohma-D'un, Generals Kenobi and Skywalker were sent to investigate. Kenobi, having witnessed his lethal effectiveness on Kamino, had Alpha assigned to the mission too. When the trio arrived on the surface, they found the Gungan colony in ruins and no survivors. Before they could complete their investigation, they fell under attack and under Kenobi's orders, Alpha went with Anakin to find and destroy the bio-weapon responsible for Ohma-D'un's destruction. It was then that Anakin, uncomfortable with calling him simply "clone," named the ARC trooper "Alpha".

Alpha was chosen again by Kenobi and Anakin for the invasion of the CIS-aligned mineral world of Jabiim. The initial phase was victorious, and despite Alpha's warnings Kenobi kept pressing onward, ultimately leading to a disastrous loss for the Republic as their supply lines were too stretched in a hostile enviroment. Both Alpha and Kenobi were declared missing in action as they were captured by Ventress, but they managed to escape from her prison on Rattatak before revealing any information. After a multi-system pursue, they were saved by Ki-Adi-Mundi and Anakin, returning to the Republic.

Following the ordeal, and after several weeks in a bacta tank, Alpha was transferred to Kamino, where he was to train current and future generations of Clone Commanders. He introduced names for them, was promoted to the rank of captain, and became lead instructor of the Tipoca City training facility; where new commanders were trained and older commanders recalled. Commanders Cody of the 212th Attack Battalion, Neyo of the 91st Reconnaissance, Bacara of the 21st Nova Corps, Hannibal of the 26th Praetorian Corps, Gree and Fil of the 41st Elite Corps, Appo and Rex of the 501st Legion, Bly of the 327th Star Corps, Faie, and many more were among the first hundred to be enrolled in and graduate from his experimental training regimen, known as the ARC training program.

After the training of the new-and-old generation Clone Commanders, Alpha-17 joined the elite team of the Muunlist Ten, led by Alpha-77 Fordo. The members of the unit shared tightly knit camaraderie and friendship, bonding during many missions and skirmishes. The squad's spirit was however put under extreme stress after Future's betrayal. The clones' mental health suffered greatly from a streak of traumatic experiences, and Alpha experienced a period of deep depression. The remaining members of the Ten remained far from the frontlines for an extensive period of time, with Alpha-17 regaining mental equilibrium, but still carrying scars from the experience.

Throughout the war, Alpha was often deployed at the forefront of the effort, both in special operations and in support of regular forces. He fought alongside the 501st during the battles for the Citadel, for Mandalore, for Umbara, with the Muunlist Ten or the ARC Troopers in the Kamino incident, on anti-pirate raids, during the Hoth incident, on Dromuund Kaas and in the securing of the 50-moons system, then with the 41st on Geonosis and on Kashyyyk.

Weaknesses: Alpha's commitment to achieving the objective can be turned against him. Holding your cards close to your chest until you can lead Alpha-17 into a less than favourable situation to reveal them is ideal. Alpha dislikes losing men on the battlefield, especially when it is due to his tactics, and utilisation of this fact could set him off balance. The Muunilinst Ten means much to him, and he will not sacrifice them under any circumstances, likely willing to throw away victory to save them given the group’s recent losses.
