Background: The clone heavy assault troopers were the heavy weapon specialists, specialized in using mobile emplacement weapons. Clone heavy troopers often carried Z-6 rotary blaster cannons, DC-15S, V-1 thermal detonators, and HX2 antipersonnel mines. The heavy troopers handled the anti-vehicle, anti-airborne, and anti-armour duties of the Grand Army of the Republic. The units were not as resilient as AT-TEs or LAATs but offered ground units some protection against vehicles and air attacks.

Weaknesses: Engineered to follow orders and can sometimes fail in situations where they must breach protocol or disobey orders. Using this fact, one could place them in situations where they either are forced to breach protocol, or they perform a disastrous action in order to uphold the orders given to them.

The primary weapon of the heavy trooper offers less manoeuvrability; as such, fast movement and flanking tactics are recommended.
