Name: Sarn Vals

Rank: Jedi Knight

Tier: Low 2

Background: In the year 40 BBY, Sarn was taken into the Jedi order at age 4 from Mon Cala, where he was brought up like many other younglings. He found himself more interested and more responsive to teachings about the Force and how to use it to protect himself and others. This was supplemented by Sarn spending much of his off-time in the temple archives, reading anything he was allowed to and educating himself on on the Jedi of the past, and their unique perspectives on the force.

He would eventually reach the rank of knight, around 30 BBY, and would still spend most of his time in the Coruscant temple, passing along his knowledge to the Initiates there. When he wasn't in the temple, he would go around the galaxy and explore, learning about nature as a whole and how the force interacted with different worlds and biospheres

When the Clone Wars broke out and Mon Cala was taken by the CIS, Sarn was distressed at the idea of his homeworld being taken by the enemy, but over the first few months of the War, the Jedi learnt to turn that distress into motivation and a drive to protect others from that fate.

He would accompany other Jedi knights on certain missions, never receiving a clone battalion of his own, but would still frequently visit the temple. When the Day of Chaos occurred, Sarn managed to escape with many of his fellow Jedi, but witnessed many more get brutalized in front of him. After the Jedi were relocated to Tython, Sarn meditated for several weeks on this, going to many of the Jedi in the temple to express his grief and survivor's guilt, feeling as if he could have done more to save his peers. Eventually, Sarn once more went through the process of processing those feelings and transforming them into something more positive, which only strengthened his need to protect others from the potential cruelty of the galaxy. Sarn has remained in the Tython temple, taking a role similar to what he did before the Clone Wars, training younger Jedi in the ways of protection and prevention.

Weaknesses: Sarn is a very protective individual, always doing his best to protect others and stop conflict occurring before it begins. Thus, he will always engage off his guard and diplomatically at first, so going all out for an instant kill at the beginning would be a beneficial way of operating. During combat, he will always try to keep his distance and use the Force, so pressing the attack quickly and decisively is the way to go. Sarn will always protect bystanders, so taking hostages or entering areas with civilians is a sure-fire method of reducing his effectiveness. Finally, Sarn is far worse at lightsaber combat than he is at using the Force, especially defensive styles, so a quick aggressive front or overwhelming blaster fire is a guaranteed way of shifting the fight in your favour.
