Chief Library Assistant Un'duro

Combat is not just limited to lightsaber abilities however. A Jedi, or any person interested in beating an opponent, must have other skills that can give them the edge in a battle. Ever since I ended up in this realm of infinite darkness and nothing after my fight with Prays and the Dark Council, my view has been changed. I lived without the Force for a long time, or… perhaps it was no time at all. That is what I have learnt since my time here in what I now know to be The Void.

Ever since, I have acted as the Gate Guardian, the last line of defence for what is beyond even the Void’s borders. Since I took the Mantle, I have gained an understanding of a realm made of nothing. But now what lies beyond the borders of that is the main toil on my understanding.

The Library is one of the many things I have discovered and watched over diligently, and in it is a vast wealth of knowledge that I have not even scratched the surface of. But I have gained vast understanding of the universe and one that peaked my interest was combat. I felt the need to tackle that section of the library first. Not for power, or for strength; but culture.

Combat is one such way a person can express themselves, and one can see the variety of reality through the different combat forms spread across the cosmos. I felt the need to log it in this old diary of mine. Ghos always said I was more sentimental than I realise, I guess he was right. He was always like that...

[There seems to be a brief paragraph here that was scratched out by Mace. While I cannot make out the contents, I can only assume it was about Ghos Gin. While he spoke of him often, the conversations seemed to have an emotional weight to them that would explain perhaps why this certain passage was scratched out - Un'duro]

Suppose it doesn’t matter now. I haven’t nearly covered all there is to learn, I will update this book as I explore the library.

We shall begin with sword combat, given that the previous section covered its successor. I have not fully covered this section of the library, but this is what I have found so far. Interestingly enough, the books seem to have the same author.

Note: Images have been extracted from the books themselves or through recreations created by The Bookkeeper, generated using Mace's galaxy as a context where possible, or used from media stores in the Bookkeepers vast databanks - Un'duro

Sabre Combat

Improvised Sabre Combat wasn't a strictly defined form, but more a guideline in what one could expect when facing an opponent who fought with a sabre with practised, yet non-styled technique.

Mandalorian Sabre Combat was the sabre form used by the Mandalorians, created in the Mandalorian Wars against the Jedi Order when led by Revan.

Chiss Sabre Combat was the sabre style predominantly used by the Chiss species, a race who had vast power and influence within the region of Mace's galaxy (which some, like myself, suspect to be the Galaxy of Origin) called "The Unknown Regions"

Temple Sabre Combat was a ceremonial form and ancient form used by the Jedi Order, and by extension the Je'daii Order, prior to the invention and utilisation of the Lightsaber and its predecessors.

The Rakatan Force Saber Style was used by those who wielded the Forcesaber, a dark-side based precursor to the Lightsaber.

The sabre style used by the warriors native to the planet of Jabiim, a planet located in grid sector S-7 of Mace's Galaxy.

Programmed Sabre Combat was the sabre style used by basic artificial intelligence (unlike lesser and functioning types) programmes.

Prakith Sword Combat was the style used by the warriors of Prakith, native to the planet of Prakith located in grid sector K-10 of Mace's galaxy. Though it should be noted the style mirrors many other sabre forms of developing societies in their medieval eras, particularly that of the planet Earth (otherwise known as Sol-3).

Kaleesh Sabre Combat was the style used by the Kaleesh warriors, who were native to the planet of Kalee in grid sector J-4 of Mace's galaxy.

Nagai Sabre Combat was used by the warrior/hunter race known as the Nagai, who hailed from the planet of Nagi within the dwarf galaxy known as Firefist, next to Mace's galaxy.

Hand-to-Hand Combat

The basic movements of throwing punches and blocking, untrained and reliant on the natural talent and experience of the user; with no form or tactics in mind.

The Hand-to-Hand Combat style and techniques employed by the Mandalorian warrior race, dating as far back as the time of the Taung.

Similar to Improvised Sabre Combat, it's hand-to-hand counterpart wasn't a strictly defined form, but more a guideline in what one could expect when facing an opponent who trains in hand-to-hand without any technique in mind.

Street Hand-to-Hand Combat was a style that could only be learnt by those who had faced hardship at surviving daily, and had learnt the technique on the basis of survival. Can be found anywhere where there is poverty and crime, which sadly, is most places...

Less of a Hand-to-Hand style, and more of one's ability to employ other Hand-to-Hand techniques while in the air or with a lesser effect of gravity.

The Hand-to-Hand Combat Style employed by basic artificial intelligence units.

A renowned and legendary style that enhanced the physical attributes of the user, emphasising complete control of the body. Created by the Followers of Palawa, on the planet of Palawa in Mace's galaxy, in grid sector L-10.

Chiss Hand-to-Hand Combat was the fighting style predominantly used by the Chiss species, a race who had vast power and influence within the region of Mace's galaxy called "The Unknown Regions"

A style named after the Rancor species, native to Mace's galaxy, known for their crushing grip strength and massive claws.

We received permission to use an image of the 'Great Statue of the Gate' for this transcription - Un'duro

Echani Hand-to-Hand Combat was the hand-to-hand style used by the legendary warrior race native to Mace's galaxy called the Echani; a species which hailed from the planet of Eshan in grid sector N-8.

It should be noted that it was a legendary form, both in mentality and reputation; and thus was taught far and wide to elite warriors.

A Hand-to-Hand style created and employed by members of the Sangheili race, who were members of the Covenant and from the planet of Sanghelios in the Seropian galaxy.

A lost and legendary style that boosts the physical strength of the practitioner, named after the Knights of Prakith, a group from the planet of Prakith in Mace's galaxy located in grid sector K-10. The style itself employed strength-enhancing techniques used by other species throughout the cosmos.

Similar to Teräs Käsi in its body altering mechanics, and used heavily by the Mandalorian Protectors.

A style that utilises more acrobatic talents to coil and snake around opponents, though the style has no particular origin planet or point, seemingly appearing throughout history by various practitioners.

A combat style employed by the Lasat race, from Mace's galaxy in grid sector O-20 on the planet of Lira San.
