Name: B3 Ultra Battle Droid

Rank: Battle Droid

Tier: Low 1

Background: The B3 ultra battle droid was a powerful prototype battle droid designed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and deployed approximately five months after the Battle of Geonosis. The B3 ultra battle droid was by far the deadliest single battle droid manufactured by the Trade Federation. Thankfully for the Grand Army of the Republic, the droids suffered from technical problems and were never mass produced.

Wat Tambor had held a challenge for two teams, Metalorn and Foundry. Foundry had developed a droid known as the Avatar-7. This was the droid which received General Grievous' blessing. It was dubbed the B3 and was commissioned as a frontline battle droid. Baktoid Combat Automata never visualized having them sent into combat in large numbers like B1-Series battle droids, owing to the B3's high cost per unit. B3 units were used by the Trade Federation for frontal assaults against well-defended targets. They were often used in place of droidekas, being far cheaper than the destroyer droids.

Jedi Masters Mace Windu and Saesee Tiin faced the prototype at the Battle of Iktotch. Though their individual skills were not enough to overcome the behemoth, the Jedi worked together to defeat it, eventually destroying it by crushing it under the remains of a Hailfire droid. The B3 was used often by the Confederacy after this point, with one even being used at the Third Battle of Dromund Kaas to ensure success.

Speed: Middle Tier C Visibility | Middle Tier D Combat Speed

Abilities: Superhuman Strength and Durability.

Equipment: Extreme Mastery with an arm flamethrower and arm plasma cannon; Mastery with 2 lower rapid fire blasters; Highly Proficient with silo of shoulder missiles; 1 Density Projector.

Weaknesses: The main weakness of the B3 was the price. Destruction of a single one could cause a dent in the CIS economy, and as such, they are used extremely sparingly. While the B3 is strong, it cannot operate outside its programming protocols. Leading it into a situation where it leaves its designated task will likely cause it to stand there uselessly, unless it is engaged by hostels. And while it can resist telekinetic blasts from all but the likes of Sidious and Yoda with its density projector, a well placed EMP or use of Mechu Deru could shut such a device down, allowing even Padawans to pick it up with the Force. If the battery of the B3 runs out, it will shut down.
